DYLAN WARREN-DAVIS
UK
LECTURE: Nicolas Culpeper: The Metaphysical Physician
WORKSHOP: Hand reading for Herbalists and Aromatherapists
Dylan grew up on farm run utilizing organic principles of cultivation and husbandry. His mother Ann Warren-Davis, FNIMH, was a successful medical herbalist in London, as a result, his teenage years were spent cultivating, harvesting and gathering wild-crafted herbs for making herbal tinctures. Dylan worked as a dispenser while a student of herbal medicine, qualifying as a medical herbalist with the National Institute of Medical Herbalists in 1982.
He has been specifically researching the philosophical and metaphysical foundations of the European herbal tradition. Dylan has been involved with herbal medicine, yoga and meditation for more than 40 years.
From the time he qualified as a medical herbalist; having seen the serious limitations of the pharmacological explanation of the way herbs work, Dylan has sought out the metaphysical knowledge upon which the Western Herbal tradition has been based. It was a lengthy journey, spanning several decades of research, through Hermetic, Cabalistic, Alchemical and Astrological knowledge.
He is now ready to present this long forgotten and much needed foundation of the Western Herbal Tradition. By combining traditional herbal wisdom with the latest insights of glycobiology, epigenetics and cellular communication, whole herbs can be seen offer so much more therapeutic potential than isolated drugs. Rather than just being sources of drugs, herbs should be seen as having a multitude of different properties ranging from supplying specific components of nutrition to orchestrating genetic expression and harmonization.Dylan has travelled widely, studying the floras of Britain, Mediterranean and Australasia.
Dylan is author odf several books and is currently writing a book based on his four decades of research entitled "The Metaphysical Physician - The Complete Guide to the Metaphysical and Symbolic Basis of the Western Herbal Tradition."
