The Chemotherapy Unit Therapist’s Toolbox: Aromatic and other complementary strategies that make a difference
Emma has worked as a Complementary Therapist in clinical settings such as hospice care, GP surgeries and NHS hospitals for over 18 years.
For the past 10 years, Emma has worked at Dimbleby Cancer Care, Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, using clinical aromatherapy, massage, reflexology, relaxation techniques and stress management strategies to help patients better manage the stresses, symptoms and side effects of cancer and its treatment.
Emma is Lead Therapist for the satellite Guy’s Cancer Centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Kent and supports, mentors and teaches therapists on the services’ Honorary Complementary Therapist Programme.
During her time at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, Emma has been recognised as an End of Life Care Champion integrated into the hospital palliative care team and she has worked as a Staff Support Well-being Advisor during the Covid-19 pandemic.
