Fiona Hedigan is a PhD Candidate, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trinity College Dublin. Her supervisors are Assoc. Prof. Astrid Sasse & Assoc. Prof. Helen Sheridan, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trinity College Dublin.
A native of Cork in Ireland, Fiona worked in the business sector for over 30 years developing consumer products and building brands on Irish and international markets.Her passion for aromatherapy began over 20 years ago when she trained as an aromatherapist. Fiona has studied and blended aromatic plant oils and is especially interested in the positive impact plant oils can have on mood, wellbeing and anxiety. She formulates customised blends for private and corporate clients who have experienced their therapeutic benefits.
In 2017, Fiona developed her own niche brand of therapeutic oil blends to help relieve stress and promote wellbeing: FLORA + FIONA.
In 2020, Fiona was awarded a scholarship from the Irish Research Council for a four year PhD to conduct research into the use of aromatherapy in the treatment of stress and anxiety. She is currently in Year 2 in the prestigious School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trinity College Dublin.
