Chasing the monsters away: Aromatic solutions for childhood anxiety

Janet says “Naturopathy has always been a part of my life. I was given this herbal knowledge from the cradle by my grandmother and that helped me to deal with my own childhood monsters. I am thus part of a long tradition of herbal knowledge passed down from generation to generation.”

Over time, Janet has supplemented this traditional knowledge and substantiated it scientifically through a combination of education and experience, something that resulted in the creation of FytArom (2015), the only accredited aromatherapy school in The Netherlands. FytArom offers an accredited three-year bachelor's degree education in aromatherapy comprising 225 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System).
Janet began her aromatherapy education in Grasse, France between 1988-1989 (ASFO Grasse) wherein she learned about the manufacture of aromatic products. Thereafter she continued her education in The Netherlands, certifying in Integral Body Massage Therapy, Phytotherapy, Perfumery and Skincare.
During her career Janet has also worked for many years as a certified Naturopath (Sana Nature), in this professional practice, aromatherapy, phytotherapy and massage have always had an important role. Therapeutically speaking, she has always been focused on developing solutions for Dutch children and youngster’s well-being.

At the moment, Janet is director and a senior educator at FytArom, The Netherlands.
