A Science Fashion approach to Clinical Aromatherapy: "Adaptive" eScent Platform Technology for connected masks and other wearable products
Dr Jenny Tillotson is a designer, inventor, and the founder of "eScent", a Platform-based deeptech company in the adaptive scent market. Jenny is also a Visiting Researcher in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge.
Protected by several awarded and pending patents, eScent connects people to nature by engineering sensory moments through context. The company won an Innovate UK "Sustainable Innovation Fund" Award, prototyping a transformative technology to develop reusable, high protection masks and demonstrating the utility of scent and virus blocking agents in real-life scenarios.
Jenny holds a Ph.D. in Textiles from the Royal College of Art, a degree in Fashion Communication from Central Saint Martins, and has a transdisciplinary approach informed by neuroscience and sustainable design thinking. She is a former Visiting Scholar in Healthcare Biotechnology in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge, a Reader in "Sensory Fashion" at Central Saint Martins, and is currently a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, a Churchill Fellow and an Associate of the British Society of Perfumers and Royal Society of Biology.
She has worked with multiple industry partners (Philips, The North Face, IFF, Adeleine Andre haute couture), won several awards, published widely in science, health humanities, and design journals, and exhibited internationally.
