A Fragrant Journey from the Dawn of Distillation

Maria Rosario Belgiorno is currently Associate Senior Researcher: ISPC-CNR (Institute of Heritage Science of the Italian National Council of Researches) in Rome, Italy and Director of the Italian Archaeological Mission of Pyrgos (LM) in Cyprus.
She is also Scientific Director of the Cyprus Perfume Theme Park, Nicosia www.perfumecypark.org.

Maria Rosario graduated in Archaeology at the University 'La Sapienza' of Rome in 1970. She received a scholarship for her Research Doctorate (Italian National Researches Council grant) in Aegean and Cypriot Archaeology from 1971 to 1973.
Previous to her current positions, she was Researcher at ISMEA-CNR: Istituto per gli Studi Micenei ed Egeo-Anatolici 1973 to 2000; Senior Researcher at ITABC-CNR: Istituto per le Tecnologie Applicate ai Beni Culturali 2000 to 2012.
Maria Rosario is author of 12 books and more than 100 papers on scientific review-magazines, and has organized 30 events and exhibitions in Italy, Cyprus and Europe on the Pyrgos/Mavroraki site and material.
